Know the ground
Experience here was earned season by season, with the result visible in every field, herd and load.
What began with Bill Netherlin working hay ground and cattle near Artesia has become a four-part operation—and a third generation is learning how to carry it forward.
Alfadale started with alfalfa ground and cattle near Artesia. Bill Netherlin learned what the Pecos Valley soil and water would do by working it—not by studying it from somewhere else. When a cutting was ready, the weather mattered. When livestock depended on him, showing up mattered. That was the first business plan.
The operation expanded into crops, caliche and a commercial-water network serving oilfield, construction, agricultural, industrial and other commercial work. Each new line came from the same place: knowing the ground, recognizing a real need and standing behind the answer.
Today, a third generation is growing into Alfadale alongside the generations that built it. The equipment and scale have changed. The expectation has not: do what you said you would do, and treat people like you plan to see them again.

Experience here was earned season by season, with the result visible in every field, herd and load.
A customer should know who is accountable, get a straight answer and be able to reach that person again.
Each generation adds capability while protecting the relationships and reputation handed to the next.
Hay ground in the Pecos Valley, cut and baled on the dew, sold to whoever needed dependable feed.
A ranch alongside the farm—yearlings and weaned calves eating hay put up a mile away.
The operation widened as the ground, the water and the market allowed.
Local caliche supplied for lease roads and well pads across the same country.
Five mapped load-out stations and more than 100 miles of operational infrastructure moving commercial water across northern Eddy County.

Alfadale is still a family operation, supported by the people who keep its customers, schedules and day-to-day work moving. When someone calls, the answer comes from people close to the work.
